Worked on the revbayes/revbayes repository to enhance the reliability of stochastic character map sampling in phylogenetic substitution models. Addressed a bug in the C++ codebase to ensure that sites flagged as excluded were properly omitted during sampling, thereby improving the accuracy of downstream phylogenetic analyses. Applied targeted tests to validate the fix and maintained commit-level traceability throughout the process. Leveraged expertise in C++ development, phylogenetics, and statistical modeling to align the solution with user workflows and reduce the risk of bias in analytical results. The work focused on code stabilization and improving the integrity of statistical outputs.
