Worked on the IIIF/cookbook-recipes repository to enhance reliability and maintainability of the Cookbook recipes module. Focused on backend development using Python, addressing two key bugs by restoring correct recipe selection and ensuring duration values are handled as integers to prevent precision errors. Refactored the storage of behaviors, centralizing them in an array to improve code consistency and support future scalability. These changes reduced runtime errors and improved the user experience in recipe selection. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to bug fixing and code refactoring, laying a stronger foundation for ongoing feature development and maintainable backend architecture.
