During October 2025, Katja Jansen enhanced the awslabs/cid-framework repository by delivering detailed carbon emissions reporting for AWS Billing Data Export, covering Scope 1, Scope 2 (LBM/MBM), and Scope 3 (LBM/MBM) emissions. She expanded the data-exports-aggregation.yaml configuration to include new emissions fields, updated the default query and schema, and ensured units and values were accurately represented. Leveraging her expertise in CloudFormation, data engineering, and YAML, Katja improved the framework’s data modeling to support granular ESG and sustainability metrics. This work addressed the need for more complete and accurate environmental reporting, laying groundwork for future extensibility and analytics.
