Worked on two OpenSearch repositories, focusing on frontend improvements and test stability. Upgraded the index-management-dashboards-plugin to React 18, refactoring code to leverage new APIs and enhance performance while updating toast dismissal logic for a smoother user experience. Addressed CI reliability in opensearch-dashboards-functional-test by stabilizing ISM test timeouts, ensuring tests wait appropriately for slow loading states and reducing flakiness. Utilized JavaScript, TypeScript, and Cypress to implement these changes, emphasizing robust testing and modern frontend practices. The work delivered both a new feature and a bug fix, demonstrating attention to user experience and continuous integration reliability within the project.
