Kyssike enhanced testing ergonomics for the JetBrains/intellij-scala repository by improving Bazel integration and test targeting for Scala projects. They enabled developers to run individual ScalaTest and ZIO Test tests as well as entire test classes directly through Bazel, streamlining the feedback loop and increasing test specificity. This work reduced debugging time and improved CI reliability by allowing more granular test execution and isolation. Kyssike’s approach emphasized robust change-tracking, with clear documentation and traceable commits. The project demonstrated strong skills in Scala, Bazel, and automated testing, delivering practical improvements for Bazel-based Scala development workflows within the repository.
