Worked on enhancing AWS error reporting within the aws/amazon-ssm-agent repository by developing a new function to extract detailed AWS error information for the EC2 Role Provider. Focused on backend development using Go, the work improved error handling by refining the messaging around instance profile retrieval, which enables faster diagnostics and more reliable EC2 operations. Additionally, shortened and clarified IMDS error messages to improve log readability and streamline troubleshooting. Emphasized robust testing practices to ensure the reliability of these changes. The updates addressed a key pain point in error triage, contributing to more efficient backend maintenance and operational support.
