In July 2025, Leakon contributed to the open-feature/flagd repository by developing a new operational feature for the Sync Service. He introduced a command-line flag that allows users to disable the deprecated getMetadata endpoint, providing greater control over metadata requests during the deprecation period. This work involved updating CLI argument parsing, integrating the flag into the service’s runtime configuration, and conditioning the endpoint’s behavior based on the new setting. Using Go and leveraging skills in API design, CLI development, and service configuration, Leakon delivered a focused, well-scoped change that addressed a specific operational need without introducing unnecessary complexity.
