Worked on the astronomer/airflow repository, delivering two core features focused on backend reliability and maintainability. Developed a GitHub CLI-based authentication enhancement that prioritizes authentication tokens over environment variables, introducing token management utilities and updating automation scripts to reduce environment variable leakage and improve workflow reliability. Initiated a refactor to centralize and reuse request handling logic across DagFileProcessorProcess and TriggerRunnerSupervisor, extracting shared handlers to decrease code duplication and streamline future changes. Leveraged Python for API development and integration, emphasizing code quality and maintainability. The work laid groundwork for easier onboarding, faster iteration, and improved extensibility, with no major bugs addressed.
