During November 2024, Leo Chen developed interactive keyboard input support for the VulkanView component in the facebook/igl repository. He implemented keyDown and keyUp event handling within the Vulkan rendering context, enabling user-driven interaction for demos and testing scenarios. This work required integrating Objective-C with the Vulkan API and front end development practices on macOS, ensuring that input events were correctly processed and linked to the rendering layer. By establishing this input handling foundation, Leo enabled future expansion toward more interactive and input-driven features in igl. The work demonstrated focused engineering depth, addressing a core need for enhanced interactivity.
