During July 2025, Maik modernized the CUDA continuous integration pipeline for the microsoft/LightGBM repository. He migrated GPU test workflows from a custom Docker-based setup to GitHub’s native GPU runners, removing the need for bespoke Docker images and restart jobs. This transition, implemented using YAML and leveraging GitHub Actions, streamlined the CI/CD process and reduced ongoing maintenance requirements. By relying on the LightGBM-GPU runner, Maik improved the reliability and speed of GPU-enabled test feedback, enabling more rapid validation of GPU-related changes. The work demonstrated a focused application of CI/CD best practices and infrastructure-as-code principles within a production machine learning project.
