Built the UCSBDiningMenuItems service and controller using Java and Spring Boot, established REST API endpoints, and designed the initial menu items database schema with JPA/Hibernate. Enhanced user experience by making meal information publicly accessible and implemented access control for meal timing searches. Prioritized code quality through extensive refactoring, code cleanup, and comprehensive unit testing with Jest and React Testing Library, achieving full test coverage and improving maintainability across the codebase.
