Worked on enhancing ALT Linux compatibility for the distrobox repository, focusing on improving cross-distribution reliability and maintainability. Developed a runuser-based wrapper for the su command, adjusted the PAM stack, and ensured proper PATH order to address ALT Linux-specific behaviors. Utilized Linux administration and shell scripting skills to implement idempotent directory creation and maintain compatibility with host PATH conventions, following FHS guidelines. These changes reduced host-specific failures and enabled smoother container startup for ALT Linux users. The work resulted in a robust, maintainable solution that expanded distrobox usability in enterprise environments, emphasizing system compatibility and operational reliability across distributions.
