Worked on the zed-industries/zed repository to address a critical reliability issue in the Vim integration, focusing on text selection stability after Cmd+F searches. Using Rust and leveraging deep knowledge of Vim workflows, implemented a targeted bug fix that clarified mode transitions and corrected visual selection behavior, directly reducing user friction in search scenarios. The solution involved resetting the cmd_f_search state after navigation commands and refining state management to prevent unintended visual selections. This work demonstrated careful attention to release traceability and quality, aligning with tracked issues and release notes, and contributed to a more predictable and stable editing experience.
