During December 2024, Jibing Li developed a performance-focused feature for the Jibing-Li/incubator-doris repository, targeting improved management of MySQL connections. He introduced MySQL TCP Keep-Alive support by adding the mysql_nio_enable_keep_alive option and integrating it with the server’s socket configuration. This enhancement enabled the system to detect and close idle or dead MySQL connections, addressing potential resource leaks and improving backend reliability. Working primarily in Java, Jibing applied his expertise in backend development, MySQL, and network configuration to deliver a technically sound solution. The work demonstrated a focused approach, with depth in both implementation and validation of its business impact.
