Worked on backend enhancements for the ResearchHub/researchhub-backend repository, focusing on improving editor contributor detection. Expanded the access_type filter to recognize ASSISTANT_EDITOR, ASSOCIATE_EDITOR, and SENIOR_EDITOR roles in addition to EDITOR, ensuring accurate identification of active contributors and Hub editors. This update improved the precision of contributor analytics and governance data, supporting better editorial workflow visibility for stakeholders. The implementation was carried out using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework, with careful attention to maintaining performance. The work laid a foundation for future governance and reporting improvements, addressing a targeted need within the editorial management system.
