During November 2025, Linzhi Zhang enhanced accessibility in the hack-duke/portal.hackduke.org repository by improving the CheckQuestion component. Focusing on front end development with React and JavaScript, Linzhi ensured that form labels were correctly associated with checkbox inputs, directly addressing usability for keyboard and screen reader users. The work improved navigation and interaction for users with assistive technologies, laying a technical foundation for future ARIA and semantic upgrades. Although the contribution was limited to a single feature over one month, the targeted enhancement demonstrated a thoughtful approach to accessibility and established groundwork for ongoing improvements in user experience across the portal.
