During July 2025, Liulinyan developed initial Isochronous Channels (ISO) support for the espressif/esp-nimble repository, focusing on extending the NimBLE Host’s BLE GAP API with new ISO-related events and structures. This work, implemented in embedded C, established the foundation for ISO data transmission and reception, enabling future advanced audio and high-throughput data streaming use cases. Liulinyan’s approach demonstrated a strong grasp of Bluetooth Low Energy protocol design and firmware development, integrating new features into the existing architecture without introducing regressions. The depth of the contribution lies in its extensibility, positioning the NimBLE Host for time-critical BLE data applications.
