Contributed to the netbox-community/devicetype-library by expanding device modeling and configuration management for network and hardware assets. Focused on YAML-driven backend development, this work introduced hierarchical device models for shelf devices, standardized port naming, and broadened the device catalog with new definitions from manufacturers such as HPE, Eaton, and Fortinet. Leveraging skills in YAML configuration and data modeling, the developer improved inventory accuracy, streamlined onboarding, and enhanced automation readiness. Collaboration with cross-functional contributors and disciplined code review ensured high data fidelity and maintainability, while updates to device type management and hardware integration reduced manual setup and supported scalable deployments.
February 2026 monthly summary for netbox-community/devicetype-library: Expanded HPE device type catalog and YAML configurations, broadening supported hardware and streamlining configurations. Focused on delivering feature work with clear traceability and reduced integration effort for downstream users.

November 2025: Expanded device catalog and module support in netbox-community/devicetype-library, delivering broader device compatibility and improved user experience. Key deliveries include standardization of port naming and integration of Broadcom and Aruba modules; addition of two CXR products (FOP-16FXO-4TTX-SM40 and FOP-4FXO-MM2-SC) with updated subdevice_role; and addition of HWG-STE SNMP Thermometer. Major data fixes addressed model and part_number corrections across modules and an interface-count fix for Palo Alto PA-410 (PA-410 erratum). Overall impact: increased catalog coverage, faster onboarding, and enhanced data quality and monitoring capabilities. Technologies/skills demonstrated include Git-based development, module catalog design, data normalization, code review (e.g., commits reflecting review by HarryAJC), cross-team collaboration, and SNMP instrumentation.
