During January 2025, Nengli Li focused on enhancing the reliability of the Interactive Engine within the alibaba/GraphScope repository. He addressed a critical issue by refining the engine’s completion semantics, ensuring that a task is only marked finished after both execution and all peer communications are complete. To further reduce runtime risk for large-scale jobs, he expanded end-to-end test coverage, specifically validating timeout handling for lengthy or resource-intensive workloads. Working primarily in Rust and TOML, Nengli applied system programming and testing expertise to improve stability, reduce flaky tests, and enable smoother user experiences for interactive workloads on GraphScope.
