During April 2025, Lnt enhanced the umbraco/Umbraco.UI repository by developing a feature that improves avatar initials rendering for internationalized names. Using TypeScript and front-end development skills, Lnt adjusted the avatar component to accurately extract initials from names containing non-standard characters and alternative character sets, addressing the needs of a global user base. The implementation focused on web components and accessibility, ensuring that avatars display correctly across various languages and scripts. The work was delivered as a minimal-risk, well-scoped patch, validated through targeted QA, and contributed to the maintainability and international readiness of the Umbraco user interface.
