Over a two-month period, contributed targeted upgrades and packaging improvements to open source build systems, focusing on the Allegro library in both the macports/macports-ports and msys2/MINGW-packages repositories. Delivered version updates and streamlined packaging by aligning port sources with upstream releases, enabling 7z extraction, and updating checksums to improve distribution integrity. In msys2/MINGW-packages, removed obsolete patches to reduce maintenance overhead and enhance build reproducibility. The work emphasized automation, dependency hygiene, and release-readiness, leveraging skills in C programming, package management, and build systems, with implementation involving Tcl and bash scripting to support maintainable and reliable downstream builds.
