During February 2026, lordhoto contributed to the dosbox-staging/dosbox-staging repository by introducing Meson build files to compile and modularize the REST API webserver component. This work focused on modernizing the build system and establishing a modular architecture, allowing the REST API backend to be built independently from other project components. Using C++ and leveraging Meson for build system configuration, lordhoto laid the groundwork for improved maintainability and scalability. The changes enhanced build reliability and set the stage for easier future isolation and testing of backend components. No bugs were reported or fixed during this period, reflecting targeted feature development.
