During December 2025, Bloodstainedqueen contributed to the helix-editor/helix repository by implementing support for the .ghostty file extension, enhancing the editor’s language recognition and syntax highlighting capabilities for Ghost files. This work involved extending configuration management and editor development features, specifically focusing on language support using TOML to define the new file type integration. By enabling native editing and recognition of Ghost files, Bloodstainedqueen addressed a gap in Helix’s file-type coverage, improving the user experience for developers working with Ghostty. The contribution was focused and aligned with the project roadmap, delivering a targeted feature without addressing bug fixes during this period.
