Worked on stabilizing Kafka consumer access for Gentrack by addressing a critical naming mismatch in the utilitywarehouse/kafka-cluster-config repository. The main contribution involved renaming the gentrack-agreements-consumer module to gentrack-agreement-consumer, which restored topic access and resolved operational blockers for the Gentrack Agreements workflow. This fix was implemented using Terraform and HCL, demonstrating a strong grasp of cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code principles. The work emphasized the importance of consistent naming conventions in distributed systems, improved the maintainability of the Kafka consumer stack, and ensured traceability through clear, commit-based changes, supporting reliable data flow and cross-team collaboration.
