During September 2025, Peixuan Li developed a Stream Expiration Time API for the facebook/fbthrift repository, focusing on enhancing stream lifecycle management and resource allocation within the ThriftServer. The work centered on implementing the set_stream_expire_time() method in thrift-python, allowing per-stream expiration configuration to improve resource budgeting and maintainability. Peixuan applied backend development and API design skills, leveraging Python and Thrift to ensure the new API was verifiable and maintainable. No major bugs were addressed during this period, as the effort prioritized expanding the API surface and ensuring robust, traceable integration within the existing ThriftServer infrastructure and codebase.
