In May 2025, Lars Tore Bøe developed a more flexible Stepper component for the NVE/Designsystem repository, focusing on enhancing UI adaptability and maintainability. He introduced an optional descriptions feature, allowing step descriptions to be hidden via a new hideDescriptions option, and refactored the component’s internal logic to support this optionality. Using LitElement, TypeScript, and CSS, Lars ensured the updated Stepper provided a more compact interface and improved design-to-implementation consistency. He also updated documentation to reflect these changes and resolved a bug related to description hiding, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to frontend development and web component architecture.
