During July 2025, Lucky Kat focused on improving build stability for the hydro-project/hydro repository by addressing Amazon Linux 2 compatibility issues. They resolved a persistent build problem by removing the hydro_cli Python package and its associated build and test configurations, streamlining the CI/CD pipeline and reducing maintenance overhead. This change, implemented using Python, Rust, and YAML, simplified the build process and eliminated a key failure point, resulting in more reliable builds across AL2 environments. Lucky Kat’s work demonstrated a strong grasp of build automation and packaging, laying the foundation for faster release cycles and improved maintainability within the project.
