Worked on the hydro-project/hydro repository to address build stability and compatibility issues with Amazon Linux 2 by removing the hydro_cli Python package and its associated build and test configurations. This change streamlined the CI/CD pipeline, reduced maintenance overhead, and eliminated a key source of build failures. The approach focused on simplifying the build process using skills in build automation, Python packaging, and Rust build systems, with changes implemented in Python, Rust, and YAML. By resolving the AL2 build issue, the work enabled more reliable releases and faster iteration cycles, laying a foundation for improved maintainability across supported environments.
