Developed Periodic Advertising Sync Transfer (PAST) support for the kholia/zephyr Bluetooth Controller, enabling both sending and receiving roles with configurable options to address diverse synchronization scenarios. Focused on enhancing the Bluetooth stack’s feature set, the work broadened Zephyr’s applicability for IoT and mobile integrations requiring advanced advertising synchronization. The implementation involved careful documentation using reStructuredText (rst) to ensure clarity for developers and product teams, including a detailed release note entry outlining PAST capabilities. By extending the controller’s functionality and providing comprehensive documentation, the contribution improved Zephyr’s readiness for PAST-enabled deployments and supported robust Bluetooth advertising use cases.
In October 2024, delivered the Periodic Advertising Sync Transfer (PAST) capability in the kholia/zephyr Bluetooth Controller, enabling both sending and receiving roles with configurable enablement. This work extends the Bluetooth feature surface to support periodic advertising synchronization use cases. An accompanying release-note entry documents PAST support to inform developers and product teams. The effort strengthens Zephyr's Bluetooth stack competitiveness and broadens deployment possibilities for IoT and mobile integrations.
