Over six months, contributed to Fleuriel/Boof-Woof by building and refining core engine features, editor tooling, and runtime systems using C++, OpenGL, and ImGui. Developed a reflection-driven component system with hierarchical support, asynchronous scene loading, and robust undo/redo workflows, enhancing both editor flexibility and runtime performance. Improved asset management and file path handling for reliable deployments, while implementing shader-based transitions and debug visualization for physics and pathfinding. Addressed stability through targeted bug fixes in UI, DLL loading, and memory management. The work emphasized maintainability, cross-platform compatibility, and a smoother user experience across game development and editor environments.
April 2025 monthly summary for Fleuriel/Boof-Woof focused on delivering key features, stabilizing the UI, and enhancing player experience through persistent settings and polished transitions. Highlights include startup sequence improvements with a splash-based flow and input locking to ensure a clean TimeRush entry, shader-based scene transitions with circular reveal and reverse level-entry, and robust UI safety checks that reduce crashes on the Main Menu. In addition, a settings manager now persists audio volumes and gamma with refined timer/ticking behavior across game states, and transitions are guarded to prevent unintended progression.
