Worked on the snakemake/snakemake-wrappers repository to enhance documentation and configuration for VEP integration, focusing on improving user onboarding and reducing misconfigurations. The work involved updating documentation to clarify that plain GFF files are not accepted by VEP and providing detailed steps for preparing and indexing GFFs, as well as refining meta.yaml to treat GFF and CSI as optional inputs. Leveraging skills in bioinformatics, variant annotation, and documentation, and using shell and yaml, these changes streamlined the setup process, reduced support needs, and contributed to more reliable annotation pipelines for users adopting Snakemake wrappers in their workflows.
