Worked on the istio/istio repository to enhance the reliability of transport timeout behavior in networking components. Developed and integrated new Go tests targeting transport socket connect timeouts for both gateway and sidecar listeners, ensuring that timeout settings are properly validated and regressions are prevented. Refactored existing test code for improved clarity and maintainability, while also applying lint fixes to uphold code quality standards. This effort focused on reducing flaky test results and stabilizing continuous integration workflows. Leveraged skills in Go, networking, and testing to deliver more robust validation of timeout logic, contributing to a more stable and maintainable codebase.
