Developed a feature for the starship/starship repository that introduced a Nix shell depth indicator within the Lix module, enabling users to observe the current depth of their nix shell environment. The implementation involved adding a new variable to expose shell depth, thereby improving workflow observability and usability for those working with Nix and Lix. This work was accomplished using Rust for module development and included thorough testing to ensure reliability. The contribution focused on enhancing the shell environment’s transparency, allowing users to better understand and manage nested shell sessions. No bug fixes were recorded during this period, emphasizing targeted feature delivery.
