During June 2025, Magnani developed a comprehensive test suite for the ReportRenewalGuidance.get_intervals method in the ansible/metrics-utility repository. Focusing on Python and leveraging Pandas and Pytest, Magnani’s work addressed sliding window calculations, ephemeral usage integration, threshold handling, and edge case validation to ensure robust renewal interval guidance. The tests also verified output formatting and production host lifecycle patterns, supporting maintainable and scalable automation. By integrating these tests into the continuous integration pipeline, Magnani reduced the risk of regressions and improved deployment reliability. This effort enhanced the reliability and maintainability of renewal interval logic without introducing new bugs.

June 2025 – Focused on strengthening reliability of renewal interval calculations in ansible/metrics-utility. Delivered comprehensive testing coverage for ReportRenewalGuidance.get_intervals, including sliding window calculations, ephemeral usage integration, thresholds, edge cases, and output formatting validation. This work reduces production risk and supports scalable automation for renewal guidance. Commit tied to [AAP-45757] - Interval Calculation Tests for RENEWAL_GUIDANCE (#138).
