During October 2025, Back Kem focused on improving the reliability and developer experience of the fastly/cli repository by addressing a key pain point in the compute deployment workflow. Working primarily with Go and Markdown, Back enhanced error handling in the CLI by clarifying the error message shown when the fastly.toml file is missing during compute build or deploy. This targeted bug fix reduced ambiguity for users, making it easier to identify file-not-found issues and decreasing support overhead. The work demonstrated depth in CLI development and testing, prioritizing clear communication and robust error paths over new feature delivery during this period.
