Worked on the open-telemetry/opentelemetry.io repository to enhance deployment safety for the Cart service by implementing a readiness testing capability. Developed a feature flag, failedReadinessProbe, which simulates a Kubernetes NotReady condition, allowing teams to validate deployment readiness before production rollouts. This approach leveraged DevOps practices and feature flag management to surface potential readiness issues early in the deployment process, reducing rollout risk. Collaborated across teams to integrate this feature into existing workflows, using Kubernetes and Markdown to document and manage the changes. The work focused on improving end-to-end deployment validation without introducing new bugs during the development period.
