Worked on the Future-House/paper-qa repository to deliver a configurable, block-based PDF parsing feature aimed at improving document ingestion accuracy and reliability. Developed an opt-in mechanism using a new configuration flag, allowing users to enable enhanced parsing logic without affecting existing workflows. Addressed a parsing bug to further stabilize results across common test scenarios and expanded test coverage by updating existing tests and introducing a stub PDF for comprehensive validation. Leveraged Python for both implementation and testing, with a focus on configuration management and robust PDF parsing. The changes support safer feature rollout and lay groundwork for future enhancements in paper-qa.
