Worked on enhancing reliability and user experience for the Twenty product line by addressing error messaging in widget-based interfaces. Focused on the Notes widget within the twentyhq/twenty repository, the work involved introducing a custom error class in TypeScript and React to distinguish between configuration issues and missing record context. Updated the useTargetRecord() hook to throw a dedicated error when accessed outside valid contexts, enabling more precise error handling. Developed a tailored UI for these errors and improved the ErrorBoundary fallback, ensuring users receive clear, context-aware feedback. Extended this approach to other widgets, promoting consistency and maintainability across the frontend codebase.
May 2026 focused on reliability and user-facing error messaging for widget-based experiences in the Twenty product line. The primary accomplishment was a targeted bug fix for the Notes widget that replaces generic error messaging with precise, context-aware feedback. The change improves clarity for dashboard and page contexts, reduces user confusion, and lays groundwork for a consistent error-handling strategy across other record-bound widgets.
