Martynas focused on modernizing the apache/jena repository’s Docker image to enhance deployment flexibility and security. He upgraded the image baseline to Java 21 using eclipse-temurin:21-alpine and updated the Alpine Linux base to version 3.21.2, addressing both multi-platform compatibility and vulnerability remediation. Working primarily with Dockerfile and leveraging containerization and DevOps skills, Martynas improved cross-platform portability, reducing build failures on non-x86 architectures. The work ensured the image incorporated the latest security patches and package updates, strengthening the overall security posture. This targeted engineering effort delivered a robust, up-to-date container foundation for broader and more secure deployments.
