Developed a Gemini CLI extension for the github/github-mcp-server repository, focusing on streamlining installation and standardizing environment configuration. The work centered on implementing a CLI-based setup process, updating documentation in Markdown to reflect the new extension-based installation method, and unifying the GITHUB_MCP_PAT environment variable across different configuration approaches. This approach reduced onboarding friction and improved deployment consistency for MCP server workflows. Emphasizing skills in CLI development, configuration management, and technical documentation, the changes enhanced maintainability and repeatability of server setups. No major bugs were reported during this period, indicating a stable and well-integrated feature release.
