Developed and integrated the LanzanoEtAl2019_RJB_OMO_NESS2 Ground Motion Prediction Model into the OpenQuake hazard library, focusing on enhancing near-field seismic hazard predictions. The work involved implementing a new GMPE class in the gem/oq-engine repository, incorporating coefficients and a near-source correction factor based on recent seismological research. Validation data and comprehensive tests were added to ensure the model’s correctness and compatibility within the scientific computing framework. Leveraging expertise in Python development, ground motion modeling, and seismology, the contribution addressed a specific need for improved hazard assessment tools, demonstrating depth in both domain knowledge and technical implementation.
October 2025 (gem/oq-engine): Delivered LanzanoEtAl2019_RJB_OMO_NESS2 GMPE integration into the OpenQuake hazard library, including a near-source correction factor per Sgobba et al. (2021). Added a new GMPE class, coefficients, and validation data, with validation tests to ensure correctness and compatibility. Commit c4976e44a972a944800ee009b14fa8324b84caac.
