Worked on the nodejs/userland-migrations repository to modernize code and address Node.js deprecation warnings. Developed an automated codemod that transforms deprecated process.assert usage to the recommended node:assert module, directly targeting the DEP0100 deprecation. This approach reduced manual migration effort and streamlined future upgrades for downstream consumers. The work focused on feature delivery and tooling modernization rather than bug fixes, aligning the codebase with current Node.js standards. Utilized JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript to implement the migration tooling, which improves long-term stability and compatibility for dependent modules while accelerating maintenance and upgrade processes across the repository’s ecosystem.
