Developed a scalable enhancement for Google Cloud Platform virtual machine deployments by introducing a new 'share' option to the umbrella_scope feature in the hartwigmedical/scripts repository. This addition enables a dedicated project scope for secure and isolated resource sharing among multiple VMs, supporting more efficient and flexible multi-VM deployments. The solution was implemented using bash scripting and leveraged cloud infrastructure management best practices to ensure robust integration with existing deployment workflows. By focusing on GCP and automation through bash, the work addressed the need for controlled cross-VM resource access, improving deployment efficiency without introducing new bugs during the development period.
