Worked on enhancing the reliability of the Effect-TS/effect-smol repository by focusing on robust error handling within the database transaction path. Addressed a critical issue in the PgClient class by ensuring that transaction acquisition failures are now surfaced as SqlError instances with clear, actionable messages and proper error channel propagation. This improvement, implemented using TypeScript and back end development skills, standardized error reporting and increased observability, enabling faster diagnosis and remediation of database connection issues. The work emphasized thorough testing and error handling, reducing silent failures and improving the overall developer experience when interacting with the database infrastructure.
