During November 2025, Fischer M. contributed to the bluewave-labs/Checkmate repository by implementing configurable storage class support for MongoDB and Redis within Helm charts. This work involved updating values.yaml and StatefulSet templates using YAML to allow users to specify custom storage classes, with a fallback to the default gp3 option. Fischer also revised the installation guide and related documentation to reflect these changes, aiming to reduce deployment friction and enhance flexibility across various cloud environments. Leveraging skills in DevOps, Kubernetes, and Helm, Fischer’s work enabled customers to optimize storage cost and performance, demonstrating thoughtful engineering depth within a focused timeframe.
