Worked on improving package management in the hmemcpy/nixpkgs repository by addressing licensing metadata for the Empy package. Focused on ensuring accurate SPDX alignment and compliance, the developer delivered a targeted, low-risk fix in Nix by updating the license field in default.nix from LGPL-2.1-only to BSD-3-Clause. This one-line patch minimized the potential for regression while enhancing downstream reliability and auditability for builds that depend on correct license information. The work demonstrated attention to detail in metadata management and contributed to higher packaging quality, leveraging skills in Nix and package management to support robust open source software distribution.
