Worked on the moltbot/moltbot repository to enhance iMessage group chat handling by introducing recognition of bare 32-character hexadecimal identifiers as valid chat targets, preventing their misinterpretation as phone numbers. Used TypeScript and full stack development skills to refactor the send-path parser and outbound normalizer, centralizing the processing of chat identifiers for improved maintainability. Addressed a normalization bug that previously routed messages incorrectly by converting hex IDs into E.164 numbers, thereby improving delivery reliability and reducing support incidents. Focused on robust testing and code organization, this work laid a foundation for future extensibility in iMessage targeting and routing accuracy.
Month 2026-07 — Delivered targeted iMessage group chat handling to prevent misrouting of bare 32-character hex IDs as phone numbers. Implemented centralization of bare chat identifier processing through refactors in the iMessage target and normalization paths, enhancing maintainability and future extensibility. Fixed a bug where bare hex IDs were normalized into E.164 numbers, eliminating bogus deliveries and improving routing accuracy for group chats. This work reduces support incidents and strengthens delivery reliability, delivering measurable business value and setting the stage for additional iMessage targeting enhancements.
