Worked on enhancing observability in the infinispan/infinispan repository by implementing structured JSON logging for ECS. This involved adding the log4j-layout-template-json dependency and configuring logging to output JSON-formatted logs, which improves searchability and supports faster incident response. The approach focused on dependency management and logging best practices, using Java and XML to ensure seamless integration and maintainability. All changes were tracked with references to relevant issues for traceability and future extensibility. The work aligned with the team’s observability roadmap, delivering a single feature that enables more effective troubleshooting and analytics without introducing any new bugs during the development period.
