During February 2025, McGuire developed a reproducible performance benchmarking capability for LSDB crossmatch operations within the lincc-frameworks/notebooks_lf repository. The work centered on building a benchmarking suite in Python that systematically compared LSDB crossmatch performance against Astropy and smatch, evaluating scalability across different row counts, worker configurations, and search criteria. Benchmark results were persisted in JSON format, supporting automated analysis and trend tracking. Leveraging skills in Dask, Pandas, and performance testing, McGuire delivered an end-to-end workflow that enables data-driven optimization of LSDB crossmatch workloads. The depth of the implementation provided a robust foundation for ongoing performance evaluation.
