In July 2025, Matc developed a user experience enhancement for the cryptomator/cryptomator repository by implementing a feature that remembers the last used vault creation directory. This update streamlined the vault creation process by defaulting the location to the previously selected directory, reducing repetitive navigation for users. Matc achieved this by persisting the directory path in the application’s Settings and integrating the logic within the CreateNewVaultLocationController. The work involved backend development and file system operations, utilizing Java for both logic and UI integration. The feature addressed a common usability pain point, demonstrating thoughtful attention to workflow efficiency and user onboarding.
