During July 2025, Shizz worked on the Arweave repository, focusing on backend development and distributed systems using Erlang. They addressed two critical bugs related to chunk processing, ensuring that chunk2 could not be stored if chunk1 was missing and improving the accuracy of recall range tracking when nonces fell outside expected offsets. Shizz also enhanced observability by correcting logging field names and simplifying the logic for skipping chunks, which reduced unnecessary state updates and improved maintainability. Their contributions emphasized correctness, efficiency, and code clarity, resulting in more reliable chunk handling and streamlined debugging for the Arweave distributed storage system.
